Free UV is in short supply in the northern hemisphere at the moment. If little marks remain, I would suggests a magic eraser sponge. The current restoration process of using RetroBrite to restore the color of the plastics detrimental in the long run is up for debate. For #1, obviously an unmodified relic is going to be more valuable since it is factory paint, provided the condition is good to excellent. People value the patina and authenticity. I picked up a couple of empty Master 128 cases last year. Both are very yellowed. One of them has obviously had something with a straight edge put on top such that half the case is yellow and the other cream. I suspect that such a two-tone case will not respond well to RetroBrite treatment, even multiple ones, and so am considering painting it. Oddly it wasnt just the surface either it was almost like the UV was able to penetrate and yellow it. I tried a pencil eraser as well as a scrubby and sand paper and it wasnt until I cracked open a keyboard to see the color of the plastic on the inside that I saw that it was a deep yellow where light was and like new plastic on the inside.

So I'm guessing the 400 case is made from it. Tea works much better than coffee, no matter how strong it is. I can't guarantee that the resulting color would match the rest of the case, though. I don’t think I will be able to use the retrobrite, and in my current situation it would be a lot easier to just paint my system. and if I remember correctly you have to keep applying the retrobrite periodically to maintain the original color. just seems much easier to paint it black and be done with it.

I also got some flux but I don't quite get the benefit of it yet. The stuff I initially bought was in a white plastic "jar", and was a goopy brownish yellow gel. Manufacturers add various chemicals to the ABS plastic used in most electronics to act as flame retardants. Over time, those chemicals react to the plastic's basic polymers and turn an ugly yellow... If anyone is looking for a good RetroBrite product (to deyellow old plastics) then this product is for you. True mechheads wouldn't even consider ABS plastic (most common keycap material) as an option, because it's not sufficiently textured. They only swear by double-shot PBT.
